Student Teaching
Location: Mandan Middle school, Mandan ND Grade: 7th Grade Subject: Life Science University Supervisor: Mr. Robert Klemisch Cooperating Teacher: Mr. Jackson Long Duration: January- April (2017) Interesting opportunities during this: I assumed all the leadership responsibilities as a teacher, full teaching for 7 weeks straight. I lead earthworm, squid, and frog dissection as well as co-taught other labs. I used the Powerschool daily taking attendance and grading.
High School Practicum
Location: St. Mary's High School, Bismarck, ND Grade: 10th and 11th Grade Subject: Biology Practicum Teacher: Miss Marilyn Miller Duration: September - December (2016) Interesting opportunities during this practicum: Thus far I have helped in the organization of an Animal Behavior Lab at Dakota Zoo and Macromolecule lab. Otherwise I have helped Miss Miller in the classroom with normal classroom activities.
Middle School Practicum
Location: Mandan Middle School, Mandan, ND Grade: 7th Grade Subject: Life Science Practicum Teacher: Mr. Jackson Long Duration: January - March (2016) Interesting opportunities during this practicum: This taught me a lot about being a part of a community. Everyday I participated in a Middle School team meeting to discuss ways to better our student's lives. I also got to assist in the annual Frog Dissection Lab, and taught my first lesson (Dichotomous Keys Lesson Plan). |

Diversity Practicum
Part 1
Location: Wachter Middle School, Bismarck, ND
Grade: 6th Grade
Subject: AVID Tutoring
Duration: January 2016- April 2016
Interesting opportunities during this practicum: AVID is a college preparation and motivation class that is offered to students who are underprivileged, underrepresented, and/or struggling with a learning disability, low IQ, or low income. AVID has taught me the importance of the Socratic method of teaching and personal perseverance.
Part 2
Location: Dakota Prairie High School, Petersburg, ND
Grades: 6th-12th Grade
Subject: Shakespeare Workshop
Duration: 8 hours in March
Interesting opportunities during this practicum: Mr. Dan Belinski, the theater director and department head at the University of Mary, offered this once in a life time chance to teach Shakespeare to students who may never be exposed to theater, acting, and the great bard himself. I assisted in teaching and directing the student's acting, Shakespearian translation, and other self motivating techniques.
